How to Apply Voters ID card online in TamilNadu
Voter ID card is very importment to make sure you are eligibile for Voting. Either for new voter id card application or a modification in the existing card like address change etc., can be applied online .
For Applying VoterID you need to have
For New Application : Your Photograph (Less than 350 KB)
For Modifications : Your Voters ID Number (Which was at the top of the ID Card above your photo) and Your Photo if you want to change the existing photo in your ID card.
The following are the steps for applying a Voter ID or changing the Voter ID details.
1. Go to Voter ID online application form details - http://www.elections.tn.gov.in/eregistration/
Form 6 : Application for inclusion of name in Electoral Roll - New Application
Form 7 : For objection to inclusion of name ( For deleting the name )
Form 8 : For Corrections in the existing card (Modification in the Voter ID Card)
Form 8A: For transposition of entry in the electoral roll (For the transpositional errors made in the card earlier)
Select the appropriate form and proceed. Form 6 & 8 were popular since they are for fresh application & modifications respectively
How to Fill Form 6:
1. Fill in the necessary details.
2. Tamil text is required for filling the details .Transliteration is posible in this site itself whereby you can type the text in English andit will transliterate into tamil.

•Type the Tamil text in English. For Eg: for Chennai Street, Type as Chennai Theru it will provide the output in Tamil font.Copy and paste it in the require field.
3.Upload your photo which should be less than 350 KB
4. Enter details about the ID of your family members (If they have one). Enter the Name, the relationship and Photo Identity Number which is Voters Identity number.
5.Enter Part number and Serial number
How to find the Part Number & Serial number ?
1.Go to http://www.elections.tn.gov.in/EPICSEARCH/ get the details about the Voters ID of your family members.
2.Enter the ID number in the box provided (ID number is at the top of your Voters ID Card)
3.After entering the ID, you will get the complete details, and there you can find the Part & Serial number.
4. Enter that numbers in the respective fields in Form6 application form.
6.Verify all the details has been filled and click on Submit
7.A mail will be sent to your mail ID which you provided in the application form with the link to confirm / modify / delete your application.
For Corrections in existing Voters ID (Form 8) :
1.Go to Form8 in the following link http://www.elections.tn.gov.in/eregistration/main.aspx
2.Enter your ID number which was found at the top of your Voters ID card (Above your photo)
3.Update required information. You can use the tamil translation in http://easylanguagetranslator.blogspot.in/2013/12/tamil-translation.html
Just copy it and paste it in the require field.
4.Photo should be uploaded ONLY IF you want to change your photo in the existing ID . Else, leave it blank.
5.Then click on Submit
6.A mail will be sent to your mail ID which you provided in the application form with the link to confirm / modify / delete your application.

•Once you received the mail, click on the confirmation link. Only after you click on that link, the data will be sent to the official database.
•The officials will be coming to your doorstep to verify the correctness of the data provided in the application form. So please be ready with the necessary ID & Address proof to provide the authorities when they come to your house
